Jávea and surroundings

Javea.

Jávea is a small, historic town, free of tall buildings, offering a relaxed holiday atmosphere. The locals are friendly and benevolent. The clean, warm, blue Mediterranean Sea laps the many beautiful beaches and coves that Jávea has to offer.

With a variety of beautiful landscapes ranging from sandy coasts to rugged mountain areas, a mild climate all year round and extensive tourist facilities, Jávea is a jewel on the Costa Blanca for young and old.

The city is located between the San Antonio and La Nao viewpoints and enjoys the protection of the glittering mountain Montgó.

Just over an hour's drive from Alicante and Valencia, you are almost exactly in between these two major cities. It therefore makes no difference that when you come by plane, you land at Valencia or Alicante.

History & Culture

The old town of Jávea is steeped in history and this is evident in the architecture. Many buildings have Tosca stone porches, Gothic bay windows and wrought iron bars on the windows and balcony railings. The Church of San Bartolemé in the center of the town is an example of late Gothic architecture with a defensive character. The Archaeological Museum "Soler Blasco" is nearby and offers a wealth of information about Iberian history.

From the fishing port, you can see the modern silhouette of the Church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, whose roof represents the hull of a ship.
